About the Program
The program will provide students with cutting edge knowledge and practical skills in the field biomedical sciences, with particular focus on advanced genomics, OMICs, genome editing, and cell biology. Specific emphasis will be given on the application of innovative technologies, such as applied bioinformatics, deep learning for genomics, and CRISPR, in the development of novel methods for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The program focuses on building extensive research skills and laboratory experience that will support graduates in pursuing further postgraduate study, such as a PhD, and a career in academia. University Students & Graduates
Degree | Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any biological sciences discipline (e.g. biology, biochemistry, microbiology) with a minimum cGPA of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 or equivalent.
Applicants with cGPA between 2.5 – 2.99 or equivalent may be considered for conditional admission.* |
Note:
- Applicants with university degree obtained outside the UAE, are required to submit an Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) – General with Grade Average for US institutions evaluation when applying to evaluate the transcripts and have a standard GPA (http://www.ece.org)
- *If accepted, student must take a maximum of nine credit hours of courses during the period of conditional admission and must achieve a minimum cGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in these nine credits of courses studied or be subject to dismissal.
IELTS Academic
- Minimum of band 6 with no skill less than 5.5
- ‘IELTS Indicator’ will not be considered for admission purposes
- A single certificate to be submitted, combined scores are not accepted

Note: English proficiency is an admission criteria and all applicants, regardless of the medium of study or nativity, are required to submit either the IELTS/TOEFL.

You will receive an application number when you create a login account. Please save your application number and use it in all communication with the admissions team. It is the formal unique identifier of your application to MBRU. Shortlisted applicants will receive an email communication for the next stage of admission process.
Interview
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a personal interview.

*Please note that the seat-reservation fee is due upon accepting your conditional offer and is non-refundable. For students who enroll in classes, the seat-reservation fee will be deducted from their 1st semester installment.
Refund Policy & Special Circumstances
Document Attestation
All applicants for admission are required to obtain equivalency/recognition of their educational degree from the UAE Ministry of Education. The attestation process depends upon whether you completed your degree within or outside UAE.
Requirements for Equivalency/Recognition of certificate obtained outside UAE can be found on Ministry of Education website.
Transfer Admission Policy
- MBRU’s Master’s in Biomedical Sciences program does not accept transfer of admissions, transfer credit, nor recognition of prior learning, due to the uniqueness and integrated nature of the curriculum offered.

How can I apply to the master program?
Application to the Master programs can only be submitted through our online application portal. Application to the program will open on October 15, 2023 and will close on April 8, 2024. Late applications received after the deadline may be considered.
For your application to be complete, you will need to submit the online application, upload all supporting documents, and pay the non-refundable application fee of AED. 1,050 – including VAT.
