His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chancellor of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), was appointed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, by decree no. 22 for 2016.
His Highness focuses His Leadership on developing a world-class foundation in healthcare. By providing an innovative academic environment for our students to become healthcare professionals of tomorrow. His Highness leads MBRU in uplifting the standards of healthcare education and research in the UAE and the region to reverse the trend of seeking medical education overseas.
The UAE’s health sector advancement is closely tied to increasing access to quality medical education. Part of the country’s wider development strategy is to work towards a sustainable and innovative healthcare system with qualified workforce. As the Chancellor of MBRU, I see great potential in the university’s role in achieving these goals and strengthening the global healthcare value chain. Over the past 25 years, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum has been a prominent figure in the emirate of Dubai and has made remarkable development with the expansion of aviation and more recently formulating economic, investment and strategies in support of Dubai’s Vision.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum holds a number of government positions and plays an increasingly pivotal role in leading the emirate’s finance and energy sectors; and despite his numerous business activities, he is Patron to many charitable organisations.
